Taylor Swift's 'The Life of a Showgirl' Logs 15th Week at No. 1 on Billboard 200
LOS ANGELES — Taylor Swift's The Life of a Showgirl logs a 15th nonconsecutive week atop the Billboard 200 albums chart (dated Oct. 24), according to Billboard's latest chart story published Oct. 18.
The set earned 87,000 equivalent album units in the United States in the week ending Oct. 15 (down 7%), according to Luminate. Of that sum, streaming-equivalent units comprise 47,000 (equaling 48.37 million on-demand official streams of the set's tracks), album sales comprise 37,000 (up 38% after a stock replenishment of some physical editions in Swift's official store; the album also logs a ninth week at No. 1 on Top Album Sales), and track-equivalent units comprise 3,000.
The album returned to No. 1 two weeks ago, after it was reissued in an expanded edition on Sept. 25 with four previously unreleased songs, including the Billboard Hot 100 topper "Patient Zero."
The rest of the top five consists of former No. 1s: Olivia Rodrigo's you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love rises to No. 2 (65,000 units), Morgan Wallen's I'm the Problem is No. 3 (55,000), Ella Langley’s Dandelion is No. 4 (53,000) and Noah Kahan's The Great Divide is No. 5 (45,000). Rock group Greta Van Fleet collects its fourth top 10 set as Palace for the People debuts at No. 9.
With its 15th week on top, Swift's albums have now accumulated 101 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. GSM reported on Oct. 12 that the album's 14th week at No. 1 had carried her career total past 100 weeks. Within her own catalog, The Life of a Showgirl ranks second only to The Tortured Poets Department (17 weeks); Fearless and 1989 each spent 11 weeks at No. 1.
The Billboard 200 ranks the most popular albums of the week in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption as measured in equivalent album units compiled by Luminate. The full Oct. 24-dated chart will be posted on Billboard's website on Oct. 20.
