On October 18, 2026 (Pacific Time), the North America Venture Capital Association (NAVCA) held its 2026 Annual Board Meeting. Board members, venture investors, entrepreneurs and technology professionals from Los Angeles, Silicon Valley and other regions met online via Zoom to review the association's development, exchange views on the global investment environment and trends in technological innovation, and discuss startup-capital matchmaking, board expansion, standardized association governance and future directions for cooperation.

Focus on Global Venture Capital Trends and Technological Innovation

The meeting exchanged views on changes in the investment markets of the United States, Europe and Asia, and on the impact of China-U.S. trade, technology policy, the development of super intelligence and geopolitics on venture capital.

Drawing on their own investment experience, entrepreneurial practice and professional backgrounds, board members shared industry developments and opportunities in fields including super intelligence, biopharmaceuticals, smart hardware, fintech and quantitative investment.

An entrepreneur in biotechnology presented progress on an innovative in vivo CAR-T therapy based on messenger RNA (mRNA), along with the company's new round of financing plans. Professionals from Southern California universities and the biopharmaceutical industry shared experience in research ethics, intellectual property protection, research security and export controls, emphasizing that technological innovation, cross-border technology cooperation and investment activities should attach importance to laws, regulations and compliance management.

Board members from Silicon Valley also introduced innovative projects and development concepts including enterprise super intelligence (Enterprise SI), venture studios, SI smart glasses and a new-generation social relationship platform.

Strengthening Venture Exchange and Cooperation Between Los Angeles and Silicon Valley

The meeting discussed proposals to further strengthen exchange and cooperation between board members in Los Angeles and Silicon Valley, including regularly organizing offline exchanges, industry forums, project showcases and investment resource matchmaking activities.

Some board members expressed willingness to provide meeting venues, professional resources and industry event information to support the association in carrying out exchange activities.

The meeting also proposed establishing a mechanism for board members to share industry updates, encouraging members to provide the association with information on important forums, technology events, startup projects and investment exchanges they take part in, for promotion through channels such as the official website, newsletters and news reports, so as to enhance the association's industry influence and resource integration capability.

Promoting Effective Matchmaking Between Startup Projects and Investment Capital

The meeting reaffirmed that NAVCA adheres to its positioning as a nonprofit organization, with promoting matchmaking between startup projects and investment capital as its core mission.

The association is committed to building an open and mutually supportive resource exchange platform for entrepreneurs, investors, business leaders and professional institutions, supporting the growth of innovative companies and investment cooperation through project showcases, professional sharing, industry cooperation and resource referrals.

The meeting discussed potential cooperation projects in fields including biopharmaceuticals, super intelligence, smart hardware, quantitative investment and overseas technology entrepreneurship, and welcomed board members to recommend quality startup projects to take part in showcases and exchanges on the association's platform.

Drawing on their cross-border investment experience, board members also discussed important issues including geopolitics, data privacy, regulatory policy, capital market requirements and investment exit mechanisms, emphasizing that venture investment should not only focus on technological innovation and business prospects, but should also fully assess long-term compliance risks and the pathways to realizing investment returns.

Discussing New Board Candidates to Further Expand the Professional Talent Network

This annual board meeting also focused on discussing the candidates for new board members in 2026 and the board expansion plan.

The association plans to further bring in venture investors, entrepreneurs, technology innovators, university researchers and professionals with rich industry experience and professional backgrounds to join the board, continuously improving its cross-industry, cross-regional professional cooperation network.

The meeting welcomed professionals newly joining the exchanges to actively participate in building the association, and invited those interested in joining the board to submit their resumes and professional background information; confirmation of board qualifications and updates to the official website information will then proceed in accordance with the association's bylaws and related procedures.

Through building up the board team, NAVCA hopes to further gather venture capital resources from Los Angeles, Silicon Valley and internationally, providing innovative projects with broader professional support and cooperation opportunities.

Improving the Association Governance and Member Service Systems

In terms of organizational development, the meeting discussed matters including the association's bylaws, board member information registration, member information management, the official website, the association's dedicated email, and the filing of external representative activities.

Board members recommended further improving conflict-of-interest management, the confidentiality system, board member responsibilities and external authorization mechanisms, to promote standardized, transparent and professional operations.

The association also plans to establish a unified registration mechanism for board members' contact information and professional backgrounds, to facilitate meeting notices, newsletter distribution, industry update exchanges and resource cooperation.

The meeting also explored making use of Southern California's regional advantages to further strengthen communication and cooperation with universities, research institutions, government public bodies and professional industry organizations.

Upholding the Nonprofit Mission, Building a Venture Investment Cooperation Platform Together

The meeting emphasized that NAVCA's development goal is not to engage in commercial competition with its members, but to support entrepreneurs and investors through resource sharing and cooperation.

The association hopes to help startup companies obtain more professional resources and development opportunities, create channels for investors to learn about quality innovative projects, and promote the common development of members through educational exchanges, professional guidance and industry cooperation.

In the future, NAVCA will, according to the actual needs of board members and members, flexibly organize online and offline meetings, special lectures, project showcases and industry exchange activities, continuously expanding the venture investment cooperation network.

Joining Hands in Innovation, Promoting Development Together

At the close of the meeting, board members took an online group photo, and communicated on follow-up work including board member information updates, startup project recommendations, industry exchanges and news publicity.

This annual board meeting further clarified NAVCA's development direction in technological innovation, capital cooperation, resource integration, professional talent building and standardized governance, laying an exchange foundation for the association to continuously carry out cross-regional, cross-industry and international venture investment cooperation in the future.

The North America Venture Capital Association (NAVCA) will continue to uphold its development philosophy of being nonprofit, professional, open and cooperative, connecting innovative projects with investment capital, gathering professional talent and industry resources, supporting the growth of startup companies, and promoting international technological innovation and investment cooperation.
