Blood Donors Turn Rewards Into Giving: ImpactLife's Good Giving Program Distributes Over $33,000 to Food Banks and Animal Shelters

DAVENPORT, Iowa — ImpactLife, a nonprofit community blood center, announced on October 17 that its Good Giving program has distributed $33,140 to nonprofit food banks and animal shelters across its service region this year, converted from rewards donated by blood donors between March 2 and August 31, 2026.
The program lets donors give the rewards points they earn for donating blood, through ImpactLife's Donor Rewards store, directly to charitable organizations. New recipient options in the latest cycle include a national health research advocacy organization and a children's hospital. Tara Matheson, ImpactLife's director of donor recruitment and engagement, said donors who give away their rewards are doing one more good deed after donating blood.
Founded in 1974, ImpactLife is an independent nonprofit community blood center with more than 200,000 voluntary donations a year, supplying blood to more than 130 hospitals and EMS agencies across Illinois, Iowa, Missouri and Wisconsin.
