Original Cast of Broadway's 'Falsettos' Revival Reunites Tonight at Carnegie Hall for One-Night 10th Anniversary Concert

NEW YORK — The original cast of the 2016 Broadway revival of Falsettos reunites tonight, Sunday, October 18, at 7 p.m. at Carnegie Hall's Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage for a one-night-only 10th anniversary concert. The evening is presented by the BroadwayEveryDay Foundation, with tickets starting at $260 ($249 plus an $11 fee).
Returning to their roles are Tony Award winners Stephanie J. Block (Trina), Christian Borle (Marvin) and Brandon Uranowitz (Mendel), Tony Award nominees Andrew Rannells (Whizzer) and Betsy Wolfe (Cordelia), and Emmy Award nominee Tracie Thoms (Dr. Charlotte). Anthony Rosenthal, the revival's original Jason, makes a special guest appearance. Vadim Feichtner, the revival's music director, returns as music director and conductor.
Falsettos features music and lyrics by William Finn and a book by James Lapine, who both won Tony Awards for the show in 1992. Made up of the one-act musicals March of the Falsettos and Falsettoland, it follows Marvin, his ex-wife Trina, his psychiatrist Mendel, his son Jason, his lover Whizzer, and their neighbors Dr. Charlotte and Cordelia. Lincoln Center Theater's revival opened at the Walter Kerr Theatre in October 2016, and tonight's concert marks ten years since that opening.
According to Playbill, the concert benefits the BroadwayEveryDay Foundation and Family Equality. Andrew Rannells said being part of the 2016 revival remains one of the proudest moments of his career, and that bringing it to the Carnegie Hall stage feels both surreal and deeply meaningful. Betsy Wolfe said she has been trying to imagine the moment the lights go down and the company walks back onstage together for the first time in ten years. Stephanie J. Block said the filmed PBS version brought the show to an entirely new generation, and that this concert lets fans experience live what a screen cannot quite capture.
