NEW YORK — The Broadway revival of Jon Robin Baitz's "Other Desert Cities" officially opens on the night of October 18 at the Hudson Theatre in New York. The production began previews on September 29 and is a limited 16-week engagement running through January 17, 2027.

Directed by John Benjamin Hickey, the revival stars Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Polly Wyeth in her Broadway debut. The 11-time Emmy winner is joined by Ed Harris as Lyman Wyeth, Oscar winner Allison Janney as Silda Grauman, Joe Keery ("Stranger Things") as Trip Wyeth and Lily Rabe as Brooke Wyeth. Keery is also making his Broadway debut.

The play centers on a politically connected family in Palm Springs: on Christmas Eve, a writer daughter comes home with a memoir that could expose a long-held family secret. It premiered Off-Broadway at Lincoln Center Theater in 2011 before transferring to Broadway's Booth Theatre the same year, won a Tony Award, and was a finalist for the 2012 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

Producers released the first production photographs on October 16. Baitz said he had nearly talked himself out of imagining the play back in New York: "What's slightly unnerving is that nearly 20 years later, through all the fractures and divisions, the questions remain the same: how to live with who we are and what we've done and call that a life."
