Hatsan Air Rifles Recalled: About 16,170 Blitz Rifles Can Fire Unexpectedly, CPSC Says

WASHINGTON — The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced on October 15 that HatsanUSA, Inc. is recalling about 16,170 Blitz and Blitz 777 air rifles under recall No. 27-025, a Fast Track recall. The CPSC said the rifles can fire unexpectedly if the bolt is released before the rifle is fully cocked, posing a projectile hazard and a risk of serious injury or death. The company has received one report of an accidental misfire; no injuries have been reported.
HatsanUSA, of Bentonville, Arkansas, is the importer. The recall covers every unit of both models sold from February 2020 through March 2026, in .22, .25 and .30 calibers, priced between $800 and $1,100.
Under the recall, consumers can contact HatsanUSA for a free replacement trigger assembly. The action was among several product recalls the CPSC posted on October 15.
