Tennessee Secretary of State Posts Official Summaries of Three Constitutional Amendments on Nov. 3 Ballot

Tennessee Secretary of State Tre Hargett announced that official summaries of the three state constitutional amendments that will go before voters in the Nov. 3 election are now posted on the secretary of state's website, GoVoteTN.gov, for voters to review in advance.
The summaries were prepared by Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti as required by state law, to help voters accurately understand each amendment before voting. The three amendments will appear on the ballot as separate yes-or-no questions.
Under Tennessee law, a constitutional amendment takes effect only if it meets two conditions: more yes votes than no votes, and a number of yes votes exceeding half the total votes cast in that year's gubernatorial election. State Election Coordinator Mark Goins said spending a few minutes reviewing the amendments in advance helps voters walk into the polling place prepared, and urged voters to make a voting plan.
Hargett said providing voters with plain-language amendment information is an important part of ensuring an informed electorate, and every Tennessee voter should review the three amendments before election day to make a considered decision. More information about the Nov. 3, 2026 election is available at GoVoteTN.gov.
