Tennessee Routs Alabama 26-10 in Knoxville; Crimson Tide Drop Second Straight

No. 14 Tennessee beat Alabama 26-10 on Saturday, Oct. 17, in the traditional “Third Saturday in October” rivalry game at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville. The Volunteers won their third straight home game against the Crimson Tide — their longest home winning streak in the series since 1996-2000 — and picked up their first win over a Top 25 team since 2024.
Running back DeSean Bishop rushed for 159 yards and two touchdowns, and Tennessee's defense forced four turnovers. Alabama quarterback Keelon Russell threw for 147 yards with two interceptions and scored the Tide's only touchdown on a 19-yard run; Alabama managed just 201 total yards. It is Alabama's first regular-season two-game losing streak since 2007, Nick Saban's first season, dropping the Tide to 5-2 after last week's loss to Georgia. Head coach Kalen DeBoer warned his players afterward that things were about to get miserable and said he would take a harder approach. Alabama visits Texas A&M on Oct. 24.
