El Dorado Named Arkansas' Capital for a Day on October 15

LITTLE ROCK — Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders signed a proclamation on October 12 naming El Dorado as the state's "Capital for a Day" on October 15, 2026 — the twenty-sixth city to receive the designation under Governor Sanders.
According to the proclamation, the Capital for a Day program highlights cities around Arkansas and brings senior state government officials into town to meet with their local counterparts. El Dorado is home to the Murphy Arts District, the South Arkansas Arboretum, Oil Heritage Park and the historic Rialto Theater. Sanders invited senior state officials to join her visit to the city.
