Sunday, October 18, 2026 · States · GSM News

DENVER — The Governor's Competitiveness Council has handed Governor Jared Polis a 19-point policy roadmap aimed at reversing a slide that saw Colorado's job-growth ranking fall 30 places in a single year, according to the Denver Gazette.

The council, a public-private partnership Polis launched in July 2026, brings together business, labor, education and investor leaders, including the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce, the Colorado Business Roundtable and the state Office of Economic Development and International Trade. It held seven listening sessions across Colorado drawing more than 490 participants from 60 industries, while the University of Colorado Leeds School of Business analyzed the state's competitiveness indicators. Polis said he has received the roadmap and plans to review how it might support homegrown businesses, attract new companies and strengthen the state's economy.
