Louisiana Routs Troy 33-6 Behind a Dominant Defensive Performance
The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns beat Troy 33-6 on Oct. 17 at Our Lady of Lourdes Stadium in Lafayette. Louisiana's defense continued its strong season, holding Troy to just 267 total yards — a week after Troy rushed for 437 yards against Southern Miss, and against a team averaging about 28 points per game. “The defense was the catalyst in the first half; the turnovers gave us short fields,” head coach Michael Desormeaux said. Defensive lineman Fitzgerald West said the goal was “to keep a zero on their side of the scoreboard.” Louisiana rushed for 243 yards and got contributions from its special teams. The Cajuns improved to 5-2 (2-1 Sun Belt) and avenged last season's home loss to Troy.
