Michigan Benches Underwood at Halftime, Rallies Past Penn State 21-18

The University of Michigan football team rallied to beat Penn State 21-18 at home in Ann Arbor on Oct. 17, earning its first Big Ten win of the season. After the offense stalled completely in the first half — managing only 80 yards — Michigan benched starting quarterback Bryce Underwood at halftime, and freshman backup Tommy Carr keyed the comeback.
Underwood completed 5 of 11 passes for 43 yards with two interceptions in the first half. Carr went 5-of-7 for 47 yards after the break and scored on a 12-yard touchdown run late in the game. Bryson Kuzdzal added a 43-yard rushing touchdown and Jordan Marshall a 1-yard score. Michigan held off Penn State's final push to improve to 4-2 (1-2 in the Big Ten).
