No. 11 North Dakota Upsets No. 1 South Dakota State 21-10

The University of North Dakota (UND) beat top-ranked South Dakota State (SDSU) 21-10 on Oct. 17 at the Alerus Center in Grand Forks, earning its biggest win of the season. The No. 11 Fighting Hawks controlled the visiting Jackrabbits throughout, and SDSU will surrender the No. 1 spot in the FCS rankings to be released Tuesday.
South Dakota State's offense stalled all afternoon, and kicker Tristan Alvano missed a 46-yard field goal with 2:22 left that ended any comeback hope. SDSU fell to 5-2 while UND improved to 6-2. South Dakota State hosts Murray State on Oct. 24. The loss ends SDSU's hold on the FCS top seed and throws the playoff seeding picture wide open.
