Rhode Island Wins 41-23 at Yale Despite Kemeni's 243 Rushing Yards for the Bulldogs

The University of Rhode Island Rams beat the Yale Bulldogs 41-23 on Oct. 17 at the Yale Bowl in New Haven. Rhode Island struck early with two long touchdown passes to lead 14-0 after the first quarter and 20-7 at halftime. Yale cut the margin to 10 with a 33-yard field goal in the third quarter, and each time the Bulldogs scored a passing touchdown in the fourth, Rhode Island answered with a touchdown of its own to protect the lead.
Yale sophomore running back Hugo Djeumeni Kemeni carried 36 times for 243 yards and a touchdown — the third-highest single-game rushing total in Yale history, behind only Mike McLeod's 276- and 256-yard games in 2007. Even with that performance, Yale could not climb out of the early hole, and its two-game winning streak ended. Rhode Island improved to 4-3; Yale fell to 3-2.
