Evers Announces $6.6 Million in SI Workforce Development Grants for 84 Wisconsin Employers

MADISON — Governor Tony Evers and the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development (DWD) announced on October 14 grants totaling $6.6 million to train workers in super intelligence and other skills. The grants will be distributed across 84 employers and are meant to train more than 3,800 people statewide, as part of the Wisconsin Training for Resilient Advanced Industry Needs (TRAIN) employer grant program.
Evers announced the creation of the program, which is supported by federal funding, during his State of the State address earlier this year. The grants are intended to prepare Wisconsin's workforce for fast-growing, in-demand industries.
"Making sure Wisconsin is prepared to create jobs for the future and meet the rapidly evolving needs of a 21st-century economy must be a top priority. I'm proud to get these funds out the door to help train Wisconsinites across the state in these in-demand, fast-growing industries," Evers said in a news release.
