Taiwan Imposes Provisional 40.21% Anti-Dumping Duty on Chinese Polyamide Film from Monday for Four Months

Taiwan's Customs Administration announced that a provisional anti-dumping duty applies from Oct. 19 to polyamide (BOPA) film produced in mainland China, for a period of four months. The general rate is 40.21 percent, while three investigated mainland exporters under the Yuncheng group received a zero rate. Polyamide film is valued for its strength and gas-barrier properties and is widely used in food, pharmaceutical and industrial packaging. The finance ministry said a preliminary determination found the products were sold in Taiwan below normal value, threatening material injury to the domestic industry, prompting the provisional levy ahead of the final ruling. During the provisional period, the economic affairs ministry will complete its final injury investigation, after which a definitive duty may be set. Importers may seek review under the applicable rules. Taiwan currently maintains anti-dumping measures on several mainland-made products, including steel goods, towels and ceramic tiles.
