LOS ANGELES — Los Angeles, in Los Angeles County, California, will welcome Leonard Bernstein's "Candide" when LA Opera's 2026-27 season production opens Saturday, November 21, at 7:30 p.m. at Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, running through December 13 for a total of six performances. The venue is at 135 North Grand Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90012.

The star-studded cast features Patti LuPone as the Old Lady, Scott Bakula in the dual role of Voltaire and Dr. Pangloss, Duke Kim as Candide and Meghan Picerno as Cunegonde. Resident Conductor Lina González-Granados conducts the production by Francesca Zambello.

Adapted from Voltaire's satire, "Candide" is Bernstein's opera-meets-Broadway hybrid. It is sung in English with projected subtitles and runs approximately two hours and 30 minutes, including one intermission, with famous numbers including "Glitter and Be Gay" and "Make Our Garden Grow."

LA Opera is currently promoting "Candide" as part of season packages, advertised as saving up to 25 percent, and does not list single-ticket prices on the production page; prices are as listed on the official ticketing page.
