Ektaa Diwali Fest Set for Oct. 24 at Great Park Live in Irvine, With 7 p.m. Lamp Lighting and Drone Show
Irvine, a city in Orange County, California, will host the Ektaa Diwali Fest on Saturday, October 24, from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Great Park Live in the Orange County Great Park, 300 Corsair, Irvine, CA 92618.
According to the venue's official event page, the festival features Indian music, cultural performances, food, shopping and henna. A traditional lamp-lighting ceremony is scheduled for 7 p.m., followed by a drone show. The event is presented by the Ektaa Center with the City of Irvine Community Services as partner; the organizer says this is the festival's 11th year.
The venue has also posted guest policies for community events: standard-size backpacks are permitted subject to security inspection, one factory-sealed bottle of water per person is allowed, and service animals are welcome; outside meals, alcohol and glass containers are prohibited.
Diwali, the festival of lights, is one of India's most important traditional celebrations, symbolizing light and goodness. Great Park Live, the outdoor venue inside Irvine's Great Park, also hosted the Mega Night Market earlier this month; the Diwali Fest is open to families and the wider community, with food and market purchases charged separately.
