CPSC Warns Consumers to Stop Using Kalorik MAXX Air Fryer Ovens With French Doors Over Burn Risk

Monday, October 19, 2026 · Life · GSM News

Washington — The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is warning consumers to immediately stop using Kalorik MAXX Air Fryer Ovens with French Doors, saying the ovens pose a risk of serious burn injuries. The warning covers the MAXX and MAXX Advance models.

The countertop ovens have a metal frame and spring-loaded bilateral glass "French doors" with metal handles. The CPSC's investigation found that the doors can suddenly close on consumers' arms while the oven is operating, causing burns.

According to the CPSC, the original importers — Team International Group of America, Inc. and Kalorik, LLC — have gone out of business and are unable to conduct a recall, while the current owner of the Kalorik brand, The Legacy Companies, LLC, has declined to participate in a recall of the affected ovens. The ovens were sold by the original importers from April 2020 to January 8, 2024, and by The Legacy Companies after June 23, 2025.

The CPSC urges consumers to dispose of the ovens following local hazardous waste disposal procedures, and to report incidents involving the products at SaferProducts.gov. (Source: U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission warning)
