Monday, October 19, 2026 · States · GSM News

Harrison Estates Senior Housing held its grand opening on October 19 in Harrison, Boone County, Arkansas. The Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas (FHLB Dallas) and Arvest Bank celebrated the opening at 11 a.m. at 851 Highway 123 with a ribbon cutting and tours of the new units. It is the first affordable senior housing development in the area in more than a decade.

The 60-unit community was an $11 million development. A $1.5 million Affordable Housing Program (AHP) grant from FHLB Dallas, provided through Arvest Bank and awarded to Upward Housing Group, supplied essential gap funding. The development includes one- and two-bedroom units, with 60 percent available to residents earning at or below 50 percent of the Area Median Income and the remainder at or below 60 percent.

Greg Hettrick, senior vice president and director of Community Investment at FHLB Dallas, said AHP grants have allowed members to strengthen housing opportunities throughout Arkansas. Amenities include a clubhouse, a computer center with Wi-Fi, a book exchange and a laundry facility, with weekly programming focused on wellness and community engagement, including financial literacy sessions supported by Arvest Bank.
