Powerball Jackpot Reaches $607 Million for Tonight's Drawing; Mega Millions at $413 Million for Tuesday

The two biggest U.S. lotteries are simultaneously offering jackpots above $400 million. In the Powerball drawing on Saturday, October 17, the winning numbers were 12, 13, 24, 32 and 35, with Powerball 11 and a Power Play multiplier of 3x. No ticket matched all six numbers for the estimated $586 million jackpot; a ticket sold in Maryland matched all five white balls to win $1 million.
The next Powerball drawing is set for Monday, October 19, at 10:59 p.m. ET, with an estimated jackpot of $607 million and a cash option of about $255.7 million. The odds of winning the jackpot are about 1 in 292.2 million. A ticket costs $2, with the Power Play option available for an additional $1. The last Powerball jackpot was won on August 12, when a single ticket in Illinois claimed about $1.04 billion.
Mega Millions drew 2, 15, 31, 41 and 68 with Mega Ball 11 on Friday, October 16, also without a jackpot winner. A ticket sold in New York matched five numbers with the multiplier to win $5 million. The Mega Millions jackpot now stands at an estimated $413 million (cash about $170.3 million) for Tuesday, October 20, the 23rd drawing since the last jackpot win.
Combined, the two jackpots exceed $1.02 billion. Mega Millions is played in 45 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
