A Chinese Takeout Spot in Daytona Beach Goes Viral for Its Oversized Portions

Monday, October 19, 2026 · Society · GSM News

China One, a Chinese takeout restaurant in Daytona Beach, has unexpectedly gone viral on social media. According to an October 18 report by The Daytona Beach News-Journal, the unassuming spot at 601 Bellevue Ave. has drawn curious customers and content creators from Orlando and beyond, thanks to its generous portions and approachable prices.

The paper's food reporter ordered the bourbon chicken, a steak-and-cheese eggroll, chicken fried rice, lo mein and beef and broccoli — all in the smallest sizes — for a total of less than $40, with enough leftovers to stock a refrigerator for days. Even the small portions arrived generously packed, with the bourbon chicken piled high and the lo mein nearly spilling out of its container.

The menu covers Chinese-American staples and seafood specialties, with family dinners for four to six starting at $54.99. Lunch specials run Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at $8.25, including sweet and sour chicken, shrimp chow mein and General Tso's chicken, each served with roast pork fried rice and a free 12-ounce soda or an egg roll.

At a time of high dining costs, the little takeout shop has become a local talking point purely on portion size and price.
