Wyoming Energy Dominance Fund's First Three Projects Open for Public Comment Through November 16

The Wyoming Energy Authority announced on October 15 that the Wyoming Energy Dominance Fund (WEDF) review committee has recommended its first three projects for the next stage, opening a 30-day public comment period that runs through Monday, November 16. Governor Mark Gordon will review the projects and public comments before making final award decisions.
The three recommended projects are Nucleon Fuel Ltd's Fort Union Uranium Conversion Facility, recommended for $20 million; Williams's Flat Top Compressor Station Project, recommended for $15 million; and WE Soda's Westvaco Natural Gas Upgrade Project, recommended for $12,925,000.
The state Legislature established the fund in 2026, financed by severance taxes from the energy industry and administered by the Wyoming Energy Authority. It provides cost-share support — loans, grants or a combination — for applied research, demonstration, pilot and commercial energy projects backed by private or federal investment. After the comment period, projects go to the Attorney General's Office and the Legislative Management Council before reaching the governor for final approval.
Applications are accepted year-round in three annual review cycles with deadlines of March 1, July 1 and November 1.
