Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds and Husband Announce His Cancer Has Recurred; Brain Tumor Removed, Radiation to Follow
DES MOINES — Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds and her husband, First Gentleman Kevin Reynolds, announced on October 19 that Kevin Reynolds has been diagnosed with a recurrence of cancer following a three-year remission.
The governor's office said Kevin Reynolds is recovering from surgery to remove a tumor from his brain and will begin radiation therapy. He was first diagnosed with cancer in September 2023.
Governor Reynolds said the couple has faced life's trials together through 44 years of marriage and thanked Iowans for their prayers. The announcement was released by the governor's media contact, Mason Mauro. Iowa's lieutenant governor is Chris Cournoyer.
