Monday, October 19, 2026 · States · GSM News

More than 500,000 ballots have been cast so far in North Carolina's 2026 midterm elections, counting in-person early votes and returned absentee ballots — a 38.2% increase over the same point in the 2022 midterms, the State Board of Elections said on Oct. 18.

North Carolina's in-person early voting period began Oct. 15 and runs through Oct. 31; Election Day is Nov. 3. This year's ballot includes a U.S. Senate seat and four U.S. House seats, among other offices. The board reminds voters they may cast ballots at any early voting site in their county during the early voting period and can check site locations and hours on its website.
