Thunder Sign Cason Wallace to Five-Year, $139 Million Extension

The Oklahoma City Thunder have agreed to a five-year, $139 million rookie contract extension with guard Cason Wallace, running through the 2031-32 season, ESPN's Shams Charania reported on Oct. 18.
Wallace is a core piece of Oklahoma City's defense. Last season he started 69 games and averaged 8.7 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.8 steals; his 150 total steals led the NBA, and he was named to the NBA All-Defensive Second Team. His 177 career steals are the most by a Thunder player since Luguentz Dort in 2019-20. With a young core of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jalen Williams, Chet Holmgren and Wallace, the Thunder are positioned to contend for another title. (GSM, via ESPN)
