Owners In Honor (OIH), a national nonprofit, announced on October 19 that it has been awarded $200,000 through the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Office of Veterans Business Development (OVBD) FY2026 Pilot Program Specialized Training, Track II. The 501(c)(3) organization, founded and led by veterans, is dedicated to entrepreneurship through acquisition for veterans, service members and military families. The award will expand and standardize OIH's flagship program, Buyers Basecamp: Business Acquisition Education & Search Readiness, delivered in coordination with the Veterans Business Outreach Center (VBOC) network. Over the grant period OIH will build a standardized readiness assessment, four new training modules, candidate-management infrastructure and a Search Readiness certification and tracking framework, targeting 200 new candidates. To date, OIH has enrolled 500 Buyers Basecamp participants, reached 3,050 more through acquisition education and events, and supported 11 completed veteran business acquisitions. Founder and CEO Patrick M. Flood said the SBA investment brings a proven readiness pathway to veterans and military families in every region. Kevin Barber, Assistant Administrator of the SBA's Office of Veterans Business Development, said OVBD is honored to team with Owners In Honor to deliver entrepreneurial services and training.
