Tuesday, October 20, 2026 · States · GSM News

The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Florida announced on October 20 that a federal jury has convicted Deshawn I. Donson, 23, of Pensacola, in connection with 14 armed robberies of gas stations and convenience stores in Escambia County between 2022 and 2025.

Prosecutors told the jury that Donson wore a hoodie and mask and used a semiautomatic pistol to rob store clerks at gunpoint. On May 18, 2025, after his final robbery, he fled and led law enforcement on a chase exceeding 100 miles per hour before being captured. As a convicted felon, Donson was barred from possessing a firearm.

Sentencing is scheduled for January 2027. Donson faces up to life in federal prison; the sentence will be determined by a federal judge under the sentencing guidelines and the circumstances of the case.

The case was investigated jointly by federal and local law enforcement. (GSM, via the Department of Justice)
