Co-op Puzzler We Were Here Tomorrow Launches October 20, Trapping Two Explorers Beneath Antarctic Ice
We Were Here Tomorrow, the asymmetrical co-op puzzle adventure from Total Mayhem Games, launched on October 20 for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with cross-platform play and a $19.99 price on Steam. It is the newest entry in the We Were Here series. Microsoft's Xbox Wire listed the title in its roundup of games for the week of October 19 to 23, confirming the October 20 release date.
The story is set in Antarctica. On an expedition to save their fellow Explorers, two players become trapped beneath the ice. When they awaken, they find themselves inside the mysterious Norček Industries facility with little recollection of what happened. Director Kathleen Bowe needs their help to continue the work of her missing research team before a global crisis unfolds.
Gameplay follows the series' signature asymmetrical design. The two players are frequently separated, each seeing different rooms, objects and clues, and must communicate by walkie-talkie, describe what they see and combine their perspectives to solve puzzles. The game is built for two-player online co-op only; the information gap between partners is itself part of every puzzle.
This entry moves the action from the frozen wasteland of earlier games into a retro-futuristic research facility inspired by the 1980s. Players use different high-tech tools and face puzzles that play with time, space and gravity as they uncover what happened to the missing research team. Total Mayhem Games confirmed the October 20 date in late September during the PC Gaming Show Tokyo Direct stream.
Since the first game in 2017, the We Were Here series has built its identity around communication as the core mechanic. We Were Here Tomorrow keeps that formula, launching with cross-play so PC and console players can team up from day one.
