Keanu Reeves is in talks to star in Paramount's English-language reimagining of the 2019 South Korean crime thriller "The Gangster, The Cop, The Devil," to be directed by James Wan in his first feature as director since 2023's "Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom," The Hollywood Reporter reported exclusively.

The original film screened in the Midnight Screenings section of the 2019 Cannes Film Festival. Its story follows a police officer and a crime boss who reluctantly team up to track down a serial killer. According to THR, Don Lee (Ma Dong-seok), who played the gangster in the original, will reprise that role in the remake and also serve as a producer. The role Reeves would play has not been announced.

According to THR, Eric Pearson wrote the latest draft of the script, based on previous drafts by Shay Hatten and Brian Helgeland. Wan will produce through Blumhouse-Atomic Monster alongside Michael Clear and Jason Blum, with additional producers including Sylvester Stallone and D. Matt Geller of Balboa Productions, Don Lee, Chris S. Lee, Jang Won-seok and Lorenzo di Bonaventura.
