Tuesday, October 20, 2026 · City · GSM News

New York — In New York City, New York, the New York Knicks held their championship ring ceremony and raised their championship banner at Madison Square Garden on the evening of October 20, in a ceremony hosted by Knicks broadcaster Mike Breen. It is the Knicks' first championship in 53 years, the previous one dating to 1973; in June, the Knicks beat the San Antonio Spurs 4–1 in the Finals, with Jalen Brunson scoring 45 points in the clinching Game 5, a 94–90 win, and earning Finals MVP honors.

According to USA Today's October 20 report, the championship rings were made by Jason of Beverly Hills: the face sets the Knicks logo in orange stones, ringed at the base by blue stones; the top of the ring opens to reveal a miniature interior of Madison Square Garden inside; the back of the band is engraved “Knicks in Five,” marking the five-game Finals win; the inside of the band reads “10 weeks,” echoing team owner James Dolan's rallying slogan during the playoffs; one side carries “World Champions,” the results of each playoff round and a diamond O'Brien Trophy, while the other side bears each player's name and number and a gold relief of the arena's exterior.
