Miley Cyrus Wraps Two Sold-Out Hollywood Bowl Nights: A Tearful Dolly Parton Tribute and a Reply to Critics

Tuesday, October 20, 2026 · Music · GSM News

Miley Cyrus performed two sold-out shows for her new album "Bass Persuades" at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on October 16 and 18, her first major concerts since 2022, according to Billboard.

During the shows she sang "Jolene" in tribute to her godmother Dolly Parton, who died on August 25, tearing up as she told the crowd, "I miss her." Billboard's review quoted her saying onstage, "I'm experiencing everything I've ever wanted."

After opening night, clips circulating online questioned whether she had let her backing singers and the crowd carry parts of songs. According to USA Today, she addressed the criticism from the stage on October 18, calling the clips clickbait: "I have never heard that I don't put my heart into something… I am fully present." Both nights also featured hits including "The Climb" and "Wrecking Ball."
