In Lincoln, the capital of the central U.S. state of Nebraska, Governor Jim Pillen on Oct. 19 signed Executive Order No. 26-25 to address tight supplies of multiple fuel types across the state, as fuel haulers are forced to travel farther to load product.

The governor's office said the new order builds on the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration's Sept. 16 hours-of-service exemption by further easing in-state fuel transport limits, allowing hauling vehicles to exceed weight limits by up to 10 percent. The order remains in effect through Nov. 18, 2026.

The governor's office noted that two diesel-related executive orders issued last month remain in effect through Dec. 23, 2026, alongside the new order.
