Perris Receives $5.5 Million in State Budget: $3 Million for Patriot Park, $2.5 Million for South Perris Fire Station 105

The City of Perris, in Riverside County, California, has received a total of $5.5 million in the state's 2026-27 budget. The office of State Senator Sabrina Cervantes (D-Riverside) announced on October 20 that the funding she secured will go to two community projects in Perris.
Of the total, $3 million will fund renovations at Patriot Park, including field improvements, additional parking and essential lighting upgrades. Another $2.5 million will go toward construction of South Perris Fire Station 105, to be located at 2495 Murrieta Road and anticipated to open in spring 2028. City records show the fire station broke ground on October 13.
"It is truly an honor to represent the people of Perris and champion investments that strengthen our communities and create lasting opportunities for future generations. This $5.5 million in funding will help build a safer, stronger, and more vibrant Perris, enhancing public safety and expanding access to outdoor spaces where families can gather, neighbors can connect, and our youth can thrive," Cervantes said. She added that she remains committed to securing infrastructure and quality-of-life resources for communities across the Inland Empire and her 31st Senate District.
"I want to sincerely thank Senator Sabrina Cervantes for her leadership and continued commitment to the City of Perris," said Mayor Michael M. Vargas. "Securing more than $5.5 million for Patriot Park and the new South Perris Fire Station is a tremendous investment in our community. These funds will help us expand recreational opportunities, strengthen public safety, and improve the quality of life for our residents."
Division Chief Mark Scoville of CAL FIRE / Riverside County Fire Department, which provides Perris's fire service, said the new station is the result of all parties coming together with a shared focus on public safety, and will expand emergency response capacity for the city's growing population.
