Port of Long Beach Notice: Anaheim Way to Close October 24 for Pier B Rail Project Work

The Port of Long Beach, in the City of Long Beach in Los Angeles County, California, has issued a traffic notice: Anaheim Way, a roadway in the port area, will close on Saturday, October 24, and drivers should watch for posted signs and plan routes in advance.
The closure is connected to the port's Pier B On-Dock Rail Support Facility project, an approximately $1.8 billion program to expand the Pier B rail yard and shift more cargo from trucks to trains. The project includes reconstructing the intersections at Anaheim Way and Edison Avenue as part of the rail yard expansion and roadway realignments.
The Port of Long Beach is one of the busiest container ports in the United States. The port posts updates through its website and traffic advisories during closures, and truckers and commuters can check port-area road conditions ahead of travel.
