Chickasaw Nation Company Completes Acquisition of Wyoming Horse Racing: Takes Over 13 Off-Track Betting Locations
Global Gaming WY LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Chickasaw Nation, announced on October 20 that it had completed the acquisition of 100% of the membership interests of Wyoming Funding LLC, which operates as Wyoming Horse Racing, further expanding the tribe's horse racing, gaming and entertainment footprint in Wyoming. The acquired assets include 13 Horse Palace off-track betting locations, more than 1,500 historical horse racing (HHR) machines, and the live horse racing operation at Sweetwater Downs racetrack in Rock Springs.
Global Gaming Solutions was founded by the Chickasaw Nation in 2008 to leverage the tribe's expertise in the gaming, hospitality and entertainment industries. Chickasaw Nation Governor Chris Anoatubby said diversification of the business portfolio is an established strategy for achieving economic stability and long-term development for Chickasaw citizens.
Dan Boren, chairman of the Global Gaming Solutions board and the Chickasaw Nation's Secretary of Commerce, said the company has proven over nearly 20 years to be a catalyst for business expansion — starting in Oklahoma, expanding into Texas, and now entering Wyoming. The acquisition gives the Chickasaw Nation a direct operating base in Wyoming's horse racing and gaming market.
