Tuesday, October 20, 2026 · California · GSM News

In San Diego, San Diego County, California, the San Diego Chinese Historical Museum's "Kids Free October" program is entering its final week. Throughout October, children aged 12 and under are admitted free, accompanied by an adult, to the museum's permanent exhibits on Chinese immigrant history, traditional art and historical artifacts, as well as its rotating cultural displays. The museum is also hosting free Chinese cultural craft days each Sunday: abalone shell making on October 4, paper cutting on October 11, dragon boat making on October 18, and, closing the series this Sunday, October 25, zodiac puppet making, which children can take home. Located in downtown San Diego, the museum is an important window on Chinese contributions to the city. Free admission coupons are available through the San Diego Tourism Authority website, and craft-day places are limited. The museum notes that children attending craft days must be accompanied by an adult. (GSM, based on the San Diego Tourism Authority)
