Visit Salt Lake Offers $50,000 in Grants to Turn Local Ideas Into Bookable Experiences in Utah

Visit Salt Lake, the official destination organization for Salt Lake County, Utah, announced on October 19 a $50,000 Visitor Experience Development Grant program. Local businesses in Salt Lake County may apply for awards of up to $10,000 to develop new visitor experiences or expand existing ones.
Applications close on November 25, 2026, recipients are scheduled to be announced on December 17, and funded experiences must be launched and bookable, with grant funds spent, by June 30, 2027. Visit Salt Lake said it hopes to turn local knowledge, creative ideas, and outdoor adventures into activities visitors can book before arriving, such as guided hikes, food tours, behind-the-scenes visits, and practical workshops, bringing travelers closer to the area's culture, culinary scene, outdoor recreation, and small businesses.
A bookable experience should have an established price, a repeatable format, and an accessible online reservation option, with experiences lasting about two to four hours preferred. Visit Salt Lake President and CEO Kaitlin Eskelson said the funding could help creative local operators make their ideas discoverable and bookable, benefiting both visitors and the broader community.
