Denver's Día de los Muertos Festival Set for October 24 at Civic Center Park: Free Admission, Community Altars and a Sunset Procession

Wednesday, October 21, 2026 · Events · GSM News

Denver, Colorado — A Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) festival will take place on Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Civic Center Park, at Colfax Avenue and Broadway in Denver. Admission is free, and the event is family-friendly.

The program includes community altars, art installations, live music and dance, a tianguis marketplace, Mexican and Latin American food trucks and family-friendly activities, closing with a sunset procession around a central community ofrenda. All attendees are invited to bring a photocopy of a departed loved one, or a written note to them, to add to the community ofrenda.

The festival is supported by the Civic Center Conservancy, with Alicia "Bruce" Trujillo, founder of Manos Sagrados, serving as artistic and cultural director. Colorful Colorado Collaborations and Kalpulli Calli Tecpatl collaborate on the event. The Day of the Dead itself falls on November 1 and 2, when families remember and celebrate loved ones who have passed; the October 24 festival is the park's community celebration ahead of the holiday.
