Canvasser Caught Stealing Package on Video: LUCHA Cuts Ties as Clip Goes Viral

Wednesday, October 21, 2026 · States · GSM News

The Arizona advocacy group Living United for Change in Arizona (LUCHA) announced on Oct. 21 that it has cut ties with a seasonal canvasser who was caught on a doorbell camera stealing a package from a porch while canvassing. The video shows the woman leaving a campaign flyer at a home in Marana's Gladden Farms neighborhood on Oct. 14, then taking a package from the porch. The clip has been viewed more than 1 million times on X.

The flyer was funded by Victory PAC and LUCHA, which supports Democratic Gov. Katie Hobbs and other candidates, but the group is an independent political entity and the flyer carries the disclaimer required by Arizona law stating it was not authorized by any candidate. LUCHA spokesperson César Fierros said in a statement the group was "shocked and outraged" by the canvasser's conduct, calling it "completely unacceptable"; the employee no longer works for the organization, which has contacted the homeowner and apologized. The homeowner said she posted the video only to warn neighbors and had no political intent.

Michael Beyer, a spokesperson for the Hobbs campaign, also condemned the alleged theft. Arizona's gubernatorial election is Nov. 3, and Hobbs is seeking a second term. (GSM, based on reporting by The Arizona Republic and FOX 10)
