Kissimmee Mayor Jackie Espinosa Arrested Over $90,000 in Relief Funds: Charged with Grand Theft and Organized Fraud

Wednesday, October 21, 2026 · States · GSM News

Kissimmee Mayor Jackie Espinosa was arrested on Oct. 21 and charged with grand theft and organized fraud, with prosecutors alleging she diverted $90,000 in business relief funds: $50,000 went to a business she owns and $40,000 to her tenant. The money came from the city's Business Boost 2.0 grant program. Espinosa is being held without bail at the Osceola County jail.

The office of Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier is involved in the case. A prior impeachment inquiry by the City of Kissimmee found that Espinosa had violated three of seven ethics charges against her. Her attorney, Migdalia Perez, issued a statement in her defense. The charges will now proceed through the courts. (GSM, based on reporting by Florida Today)
