Gov. Maura Healey Announces $1.5 Million for Job Training at 15 Community Colleges

Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey announced on Oct. 20 that $1.5 million will go to the state's 15 community colleges to expand job training programs, reaching more than 500 students. The awards were announced during the state's STEM Week.
The TRAIN program funding will support training in health care, manufacturing, technology, education and transportation, helping students earn the credentials needed to enter those fields. State data show community college enrollment in Massachusetts has grown 43 percent since 2022.
The governor and Lt. Gov. Kim Driscoll said community colleges are a pillar of the state's workforce pipeline, and the investment will help more residents access affordable job training and connect with local employers. (GSM, based on reporting from the Office of the Governor of Massachusetts)
