Final Minnesota Governor's Debate Tonight at 7 p.m.: Klobuchar Faces Demuth
The final televised debate in Minnesota's governor's race takes place tonight, Oct. 21, at 7 p.m., pitting Democratic candidate and U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar against Republican candidate and state House Speaker Lisa Demuth. The one-hour debate is hosted by FOX 9, followed by an hour of analysis, and will be carried statewide through Gray Media.
Incumbent Gov. Tim Walz has announced he will not seek re-election, making this an open-seat contest. Demuth is the first Black speaker of the Minnesota House; Klobuchar is a sitting U.S. senator. The two have clashed over taxes, public safety and education.
Minnesota's Election Day is Nov. 3. Tonight's debate is the candidates' final joint appearance before voters decide. (GSM, based on reporting by FOX 9)
