Republican Internal Poll Puts Bruce Blakeman Just 4.4 Points Behind Gov. Kathy Hochul

A Republican internal poll shows incumbent Gov. Kathy Hochul leading Republican Bruce Blakeman 50.3 percent to 45.9 percent in the New York governor's race, a gap of just 4.4 points. The survey, conducted by On Message Inc for Saritha Komatireddy's campaign, sampled 1,000 likely voters.
In a second matchup tested by the same poll, Letitia James led Komatireddy 50.7 percent to 44.7 percent.
The figures contrast with public polling: Quinnipiac University surveys have shown Hochul ahead by as much as 19 points, and the RealClearPolitics average has put her lead at about 12.8 points. Internal polls are commissioned and released by campaigns and differ in method and sampling from public surveys. New York's gubernatorial election is Nov. 3.
