Eight Wyoming Districts Roll Out Family Literacy Packs: New Books Every Three Weeks for Grades 1-2

The Wyoming Department of Education has selected Just Right Reader to provide Take-Everywhere Literacy Packs to first- and second-grade students in eight districts statewide. The program is part of the department's Comprehensive Literacy State Development (CLSD) grant and is embedded in a five-year study examining how home-based literacy support affects reading achievement and family engagement.
Participating districts are Carbon County School District #1; Fremont County School Districts #1, #14, #21, #25 and #38; Platte County School District #1; and Sweetwater County School District #1. Every three weeks, students will receive a new pack of decodable books and matching games matched to their reading level, to practice at home with their families.
"Our Take-Everywhere Literacy Packs give students the personalized, evidence-based books and activities they need to practice reading at home with their families," said Sara Rich, CEO of Just Right Reader. Each participating school will also host three family literacy workshops during the year. (GSM, based on reporting by PR Newswire)
