Gov. Kathy Hochul Reports $4.2 Million Raised in October: $22 Million Cash on Hand With the State Democratic Party

Gov. Kathy Hochul's campaign announced on Oct. 21 that it raised more than $4.2 million in the October reporting period, with $1 million going directly to the governor's re-election account and more than $3 million to the New York State Democratic Committee. Combined with earlier funds, the Hochul campaign and the state party now hold a record $22 million in cash for voter mobilization in the final 13 days before Election Day.
The campaign said Hochul's account holds more than $12.3 million and the state party $9.5 million. A record 9,959 individual donors gave during the period — more than triple the previous record for the same period — with an average online contribution of just $23. The campaign said it was the fifth straight reporting period with small-dollar donations from all 62 New York counties, most of them from New York residents. Campaign manager Preston Elliott said Hochul will make sure voters in every corner of New York hear the Democratic message in the final two weeks, and that Republican opponent Bruce Blakeman is running low on both cash and reasons to win. The midterm election is Nov. 3.
