St. Johns County Begins Early Voting October 21, Florida's 67 Counties Set Different Schedules

St. Johns County, Florida, officially began early voting for the 2026 general election on Wednesday, October 21, with polls open daily from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. through October 31. The county's ten early voting sites include libraries, community centers and the county convention center in Ponte Vedra Beach, St. Johns, St. Augustine and Hastings, as well as the Supervisor of Elections Office in St. Augustine. With Election Day on November 3 approaching, Florida voters can head to early voting sites in their own counties.
Early voting dates and hours vary across Florida's 67 counties. Under the schedule published by the Secretary of State's office, the deadline to register to vote for the 2026 general election passed on October 5; the deadline to request a vote-by-mail ballot is 5 p.m. on October 22; the statewide early voting window runs roughly from October 19 to November 1, subject to each county's arrangements; and Election Day is November 3, with polls open statewide from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. local time.
Voters must bring one or two forms of valid, current identification that include a photo and signature, such as a Florida driver license, Florida ID card, U.S. passport, military ID or student ID. If the photo ID does not have a signature, another ID with a signature must also be shown. Voters without ID can still cast a provisional ballot, which election officials will review to determine whether it can count. Florida's ballot this year also includes three proposed state constitutional amendments, covering budget stabilization funds, a property tax exemption for agritourism and homestead tax exemptions, each requiring at least 60 percent support to be added to the state constitution.
