Wednesday, October 21, 2026 · States · GSM News

In Helena, the state capital in Lewis and Clark County, Montana, the Montana VA Health Care System broke ground on October 21 for a new dental clinic. According to KTVH, it will be the first standalone VA dental clinic in Montana, costing more than $8.2 million and covering 12,758 square feet. The clinic will expand the VA's dental capacity from four operatories to 12, including two specialty operatories designed for surgery and for patients with disabilities or limited mobility, with services including cleanings, fillings, extractions, root canals, gum treatments, dentures and oral cancer screenings. Montana VA said the number of veterans eligible for VA dental services in the state has risen to 11,425 in fiscal year 2026, up from 5,451 in fiscal year 2019, straining existing capacity. The facility is expected to be completed in fall 2027.
