Root Insurance Launches in Wyoming: Auto Coverage Expands to 38 States Covering 81% of U.S. Population
Root, Inc. (NASDAQ: ROOT) announced on October 21 that Root Insurance is now available in Wyoming, expanding its auto insurance availability to 38 states representing about 81% of the U.S. population, according to a GlobeNewswire release. The launch follows the company's expansion into New Jersey in July 2026 and advances its goal of providing coverage across the contiguous United States by the end of 2027.
Wyoming drivers can now get a Root car insurance quote, customize their coverage limits and deductibles, purchase a policy in just minutes, and manage their policy directly in the Root app; no test drive is required to purchase a policy in Wyoming. Root was founded in 2015 in Columbus, Ohio, and uses technology, data science and driving behavior to price risk, with a fully digital insurance experience. Root founder and CEO Alex Timm said launching in Wyoming brings the company another step closer to making Root available to drivers across the country, and that its technology and data science platform allows it to enter new markets efficiently and give more consumers access to a personalized, easy insurance experience, with drivers able to get insured and on the road the same day.
