Federal Jury Convicts Pensacola Man in Fourteen Armed Robberies of Gas Stations and Convenience Stores

The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Florida announced on October 20 that a federal jury has convicted Deshawn I. Donson, 23, of Pensacola, in connection with fourteen armed robberies of gas stations and convenience stores across Escambia County between 2022 and 2025.
Prosecutors said Donson wore a hoodie and mask and brandished a semiautomatic pistol to demand cash from store clerks. The case involved 29 federal counts, including 14 counts of robbery interfering with commerce and 14 counts involving the use of a firearm during a crime of violence. Donson is a previously convicted felon who was prohibited from possessing firearms.
U.S. Attorney John P. Heekin commented on the conviction, crediting federal and local law-enforcement cooperation for bringing a serial armed robber to justice. Donson faces up to life in federal prison; sentencing will be scheduled by the court.
